Milk, bread, butter, tea, coffee, sugar, and honey - if the bees have been productive enough - and a bottle of prosecco.

The Village Shop in Humshaugh is a 30-minute walk away or a 5 minute drive – but only open in the mornings.

Waitrose, Tesco and Aldi in Hexham are less than 15-minutes away by car. And there’s a great farmer’s market on every second Saturday.

There are three pubs within walking distance of the Yurt, and they all serve good traditional country pub meals. The Hadrian Hotel is in the village of Wall (20-min walk).  The Crown Inn is in the village of Humshaugh (30-min walk).

Hadrian’s Hotel also hosts Hjem, an upmarket  destination restaurant that combines the best of Northumberland produce with Scandanavian style and cooking techniques, in an ambitious taster menu.

The Rat Inn at Anick (10-minute drive) is an award winning country gastro pub with the best rib of beef you’ll ever eat.

The Barrasford Arms (10-minute drive) has a great reputation for serving delicious fresh, local seasonal food prepared with a distinctive style.

Hexham boasts a surprisingly large number of restaurants. The Beaumont Hotel has a relaxed moden brasserie style restaurant. While at the top end of the market the Bouchon Bistro serves classic French country dishes.
