By car

The site is most easily reached from the A69 which runs west to east between Newcastle-upon-Tyne and Carlisle.

From the A69 turn northwards on the A6079.

Drive through the village of Acomb and continue onwards through the village of Wall. Shortly after Wall you’ll come to a crossroads with the B6318. Turn right. The road goes uphill and bears left. As the road straightens out you’ll see some wheelie bins on your left and just before the wheelie bins an unmade lane. Turn left up the lane, going through the gate with signs for Quarry House and Kiln Rigg. Keep going, pausing only to admire the panoramic view over the North Tyne Valley, until you reach a black timber clad house – which is Quarry House.

Ring the doorbell and if I’m is not in then please ring my mobile and I’ll will come and lead you to your parking space and the Yurt. Parking is a 2-minute walk from the Yurt.

By public transport

The nearest train station is in Hexham,  which is less than a 15-minute drive from the site.

The nearest bus stop is opposite the point at which the site’s (private) lane joins the main road.
